This medal is worked in embossed relief rather than flat engraving or colour fill, giving St Christopher's figure genuine depth and shadow rather than a printed appearance. The scene is stamped with real texture the walking staff, flowing robes and rippling water are all raised at different heights, catching light unevenly across the surface as it moves. Around the border, "SAINT CHRISTOPHER" and "PROTECT US" are set in raised block lettering, separated by two small star details. It hangs from a plain oval bail on a satin-finished surround.
